#WhiteHatWednesday: Ethel
Each #WhiteHatWednesday, we will highlight one of the awesome members of Team YYC. This week, read on to learn more about Ethel, White Hat Volunteer.
Ethel, who has been volunteering as a White hatter on Friday’s for six years has a busy and colourful history!
Born and raised in England, she was sent to Hong Kong at 18 to learn about her Chinese culture. From there she became the first Chinese air hostess with Air India.
After immigrating to Canada, she eloped in 1960 to Las Vegas and then she and her husband lived on every continent except Australia. The mother of three daughters and grandmother of five loves to entertain and to travel, going on six trips a year.
As for white hatting she says, “I love to talk and help people. After losing my husband it is important that I keep busy. It is the best thing I have ever done.”
