Front Office Supervisor, Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel

Each #WhiteHatWednesday, we will highlight one of the awesome members of Team YYC. This week, read on to learn more about Jamil, Front Office Supervisor, Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel.

Although Jamil has only been part of #TeamYYC for six months, his education in hotel management and on-the-job training at other hotels already makes him an airport favourite!

While some might think of a hotel as just a place to lay your head at night, Jamil, who supervises upwards of 20 employees, says, "we are more than just a bed. We are a home away from home and we want to provide guests with every comfort. It is a joy seeing a guest happy."

Jamil's manager recently nominated him for #WhiteHatWednesday, sharing this story:

"A family was checking into our hotel and had mentioned upon check-in that they were travelling abroad. They went on to explain that their stroller broke, and they were unsure what they were going to do as they have two small children. As this family recounted their frustrations, they were likely just looking for a sympathetic ear.

What they received was a whole lot more. The Front Office team sprang into action. Jamil went to a local retailer and purchased a stroller for the family, but he didn't stop there - he put the stroller together for them. The family was blown away by the thoughtfulness of our team and Jamil."

When he is not saving the day, Jamil, a rare native Calgarian, loves to follow sports and spend time in the mountains with his girlfriend.
