Remembrance Day 2020

Tomorrow, we pause to reflect and remember the personal sacrifices made for our country.

While we usually do this gathered as an airport community, this year we stay safely distanced but still forever grateful as we take the time to think about and thank those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Tomorrow, we will post this video of Dave Kirk from the YYC Calgary International Airport Pipe Band playing Amazing Grace at 10:59 a.m. [time video to end at 11 a.m. for moment of silence] on our social media channels.  We owe an endless debt to our veterans, to the fallen, and to the families who love them.

As an airport community, we warmly welcome veterans and active members of Canadian Armed Forces as they return home from service and support them as they depart to protect and defend us. We stand behind those who fight for a safe and free nation.

Lest we forget.

While the Cadets will not be canvassing YYC this year with poppies, you can still donate to our local branch of the Poppy Fund online at https://calgarypoppyfund.com/

The Hangar Flight Museum is having a Remembrance Day ceremony that will be broadcast live on CTV from 10:57 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
