National Volunteer Week in Canada is from April 19-25
This is a time for us to reflect on the difference our volunteers, both White Hat Volunteers and PreBoard PALS, make to the YYC experience. During these unprecedented times, we can think of the incredible generosity and compassion exhibited by our volunteers and work to apply that to our own lives.
Right now, our volunteers are doing their part by staying home but be assured their hearts are still at YYC and they can’t wait to come back to the airport and be a part of restarting operations at the Calgary Airport. Our volunteers are missing their interactions with guests and Team YYC members and are thinking of all of you. Our volunteers have created an amazing community among themselves as they are supporting each other, especially as so many are seniors and living alone.
While we won’t have an opportunity to thank our volunteers in person over this week in this age of technology and social media, we can share our stories. Please help us to show our White Hat Volunteers and PreBoard PALS that we are thinking of them too. Send in a story of an experience you have had with a volunteer and share what it meant to you.
Let’s all cheer for Canada’s volunteers! Let’s applaud the 13 million Canadian volunteers for their immense contribution to our country, our communities and millions of our lives during National Volunteer Week (NVW). Print out, personalize and decorate your window with Volunteer Canada’s clapping hands image with the message Cheers to Volunteers! or with your own designs. Share on social media with the hashtags #CheersToVolunteers and #NVW2020.
