National Volunteer Week
National Volunteer Week runs next week from April 7 – 13. The Calgary Airport Authority wouldn’t be the same without our volunteers. To honour our volunteers during this week, we’re profiling one each day during National Volunteer Week.
We’re also celebrating our White Hatters with a dinner and dance on April 7, and we’re thanking our Pre-Board Pals with a fun evening on April 11.
Our theme for our volunteers this year is YYC Superheroes and this is why according to Kim Yates in Customer Care:
- They go out of their way to make others happy
- They can be called upon in a time of need
- They show strength and compassion to our guests
- They are admired by all
- Their super power is to make others feel relaxed in a stressful environment
- We can always count on our YYC superheroes
“Our volunteers come dressed in their red vests and white hats with a mission to make YYC an amazing place for our guests to visit. They continuously go above and beyond. Their pictures can be found on refrigerators all over the world as everyone wants their photo with one of our YYC Superheroes,” adds Kim.
Thanks to Nedine Ackerman who designed the graphics for both YYC Superhero events and did such a great job representing how much we care about our White Hatters and Pre-Board Pals.
Take a moment this week to thank a volunteer. They all make the guest experience extra special here at YYC and we couldn’t do it without them.
