WestJet has a new (check-in) home at YYC

Starting Dec. 10, WestJet is moving back to its new permanent, domestic check-in home at YYC. It will be located on Departures level from Doors 1 to 4. Once it goes live, all those doors will open as well as the elevator. Doors 1 to 4 on Arrivals area will remain closed.

WestJet’s new check-in area is a large, spacious area with brand-new equipment and will enable guests to get on their way faster as it’s equipped with:

• 13 full-service check-in counters.
• 14 brand new velocity bag drops with an easy-to-use touch screen.
• 37 new self-check-in kiosks where guests can print their bag tag pay for extra baggage if needed.
• A priority area and special assistance area.

The 14 new self-bag drops allow guests to quickly check their bag using an easy-to-use touch screen, pay for extra baggage if needed and print their bag tag.

The new check-in location ties in with our state-of-the-art 18 km baggage system and connects bags seamlessly and effortlessly. Our new baggage system is approximately 70 per cent more energy efficient than legacy type baggage systems.

If you notice guests who appear to be looking for the new WestJet check-in, please direct them to the new location. Also, if you see guests looking for their security gates, please direct them to where they need to go.
