Booking appointments at the Pass Office

The Calgary Airport Authority is happy to announce that we are now moving to an online reservation system for the Pass Control Office appointments.

You can now save time on your next visit to the Pass Office by booking ahead with our new online system at YYC.com or by calling 403-735-1320. This service will launch Oct. 21. In order to book an appointment, you will need to provide your name and email address. If you wish to get text reminders of your appointment date and time you must provide a cell phone number. Walk in appointments will still be welcome, however, it will be on a first come, first served basis. Anyone who chooses to walk in will be placed in a triaged queue system. You should count on being in the Pass Office for about two to three hours as pre-booked appointments will have priority.

Appointments length will be based on the type of service required:

• Application Review – 15 minutes
• New Enrollment – 30 minutes
• RAIC/ID Badge Issuance – 15 minutes
• Renewal – 30 minutes
• Visitor Pass Audit – 15 minutes

Other important improvements:

• Transport Canada recently made changes to the online RAIC application and you can now save your application to resume at a later date and you can also check the status of your application online.
• Each company requires a Senior Signing Authority and potentially two to three Designated Signing Authorities (depending on the size of your company) who can sponsor a RAIC, Key and/or Access application for its employees. In anticipation of the new online booking system we implemented a new Signing Authority one-on-one training program with the Pass Control Office, so signing authorities can better understand their roles and responsibilities. We have met with our ten largest companies to provide training. Moving forward, this will be offered to all new Senior Signing and Designated Signing Authorities. 
• In addition to the new Signing Authority training, applicants can book a 15-minute application review to have their application vetted by a Pass Office Employee to ensure they are ready to submit their full application.

Did you know?

• This past spring was a very busy time with numerous summer staff being hired. In March 2019 we processed 530 new or renewal RAIC applications, which is 106 more than March 2018.
• There are over 500 companies who are authorized to hold RAICs at YYC.

Frequently asked questions

Can I schedule a large group enrollment?

If you require four or more enrollments at a time please call the Pass Office at 403-735-1320 to arrange a block of time booked for your employees to come in. Weekend bookings can be accommodated for large groups but two weeks prior notice is required.
