BBQ collects over $10,000 for John van Besouw and ALS

The Calgary International Airport community came together in the most incredible of ways on Friday June 15 to raise almost $11,000 at the ALS Charity BBQ.  The initiative from HMSHost came about when its senior director of operations, John van Besouw, was diagnosed with ALS. The folks at HMSHost knew they had to do something to support him, and Team YYC agreed.

Donations for raffle prizes, silent auction items and prize wheel goodies poured in from across the airport community. With live music from the Calgary Folk Fest, smoothies from Jugo Juice, butter chicken from Green Chili, the coolest BBQ from North Cariboo Air and some great massages, it was an unforgettable event with an incredible amount of support from Team YYC.

Thank you to those who bought a burger, raffle or 50/50 ticket, spun the prize wheel, or bid on a silent auction item! The money raised will help John van Besouw pay for his uncovered ALS treatment. This is just another great example of how incredible our Team YYC community is. Thank you Team YYC!
