YYC welcomes the Calgary Newcomers Collaborative

We wanted you to be the first to know we’re publicly announcing a new program and the Immigrant Arrival Centre today. This announcement is a joint effort between The Calgary Airport Authority and the Calgary Newcomers Collaborative (CNC).

The launch of the new Immigrant Arrival Centre will take place in-terminal at the Centre’s counter near Door 12 on the Arrivals level. Check back in this afternoon on yyc.com > Media > News Releases for the external announcement.

CNC volunteers will staff the counter daily from 2 to 10 p.m. and help immigrants and refugees with their questions, share access to resources, and start connecting them with the community immediately upon arrival in Calgary.

This first-of-its-kind partnership between The Authority and newly formed Calgary Newcomers Collaborative ensures new arrivals to Calgary have access to the vital information they need to feel comfortable and welcome as they begin settling into their new home. We’re excited to continue supporting organizations such as the CNC as we strive to reflect and celebrate the diversity of Calgary and our region.

The CNC powered by Gateway is a collaboration of newcomer-serving agencies working to respond to the needs of immigrants and refugees in Calgary and the surrounding area. The eight organizations are (but open to more):
