Join the Pink Paper Plane Challenge

Calling all men and women of the Team YYC! Help us celebrate Women of Aviation Week and International Women’s Day on March 8. Join the Diversity & Inclusion Committee od the Calgary Airport Authority in Banff Hall to help break the Guinness World Record for ‘most paper aircraft launched simultaneously across multiple venues and time zones’ with the Pink Paper Plane Challenge.

Did you know women are three times less likely to be introduced to opportunities in aviation than men? We want to change that and help promote developing the role of women in aviation.  The challenge is not restricted to women, but requires at least 40 people to participate in throwing a pink paper plane at the same time. To break the world record, the Institute for Women of Aviation needs 15,000 planes to be thrown at one time across the world.

We will provide everyone who registers with a pink paper plane template and instructions on how to build it. Join us on March 8 (this Thursday) at 9 a.m. in Banff Hall to launch your paper airplane and help YYC be part of breaking the world record to celebrate our women working in the aviation industry.

Space is limited. Register by the end of the day today to save your spot!

To register please email events@yyc.com by Monday, March 5 at 4:30 p.m and don’t forget to be part of the conversation on social with #WOAW18 and #PinkPaperPlaneDay.
