#WhiteHatWednesday: Ahmed
Curbside Ambassador
Each #WhiteHatWednesday, we will highlight one of the awesome members of Team YYC. This week, read on to learn more about Ahmed, Curbside Ambassador.
In 2012, Ahmed was enjoying honing his customer service and language skills working in the hospitality industry in Morocco when a friend in Jasper, B.C., offered him a job in a hotel. It was quite a culture and weather shock moving from a large African city to a small village in the mountains, but those transferable skills have helped him time and time again throughout his career.
"Showing empathy, being professional and generous and loving your job without expecting anything in return," is Ahmed's personal mantra, he says. Working on the curb as an ambassador has provided him with personal growth and a sense of family - he also loves walking 10 to 12 kilometres every shift!
A newlywed, Ahmed picked his current curbside shift so that he could spend more time with his new bride.
"Destiny called me to Canada," he says - and it seems like everything has worked out.
Recently on Facebook, Greg Tomchuk sent us the above picture of Ahmed saying, "My 88 year old mother enjoying the usual excellent service from Team YYC. Thanks!"
